The annual delivery of bees to local beekeepers will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3.
The bees are scheduled to be delivered to the University of Montana’s Apiary near the Water Tower at Fort Missoula.
About 100 local beekeepers take possession of about 2.5 million new bees and 168 honey bee queens.
Therefore, beekeepers can repopulate lost hives and provides start-up packages for beginning beekeepers.
Additionally, UM bee specialists and officers of the Bitterroot Beekeepers Club will demonstrate how to introduce package bees to their new homes.
