From The National Weather Service in Missoula: With high pressure expected to return, the Northern Rockies region will return to a warmer, drier period of weather through at least Friday. Highs will be in the 60s to 70s, with predominantly sunny skies. Water levels across north central ID and western MT will remain high as snowmelt runoff continues. Dozens of Missoula County homes are being impacted because of flooding. The Office of Emergency Management reminds residents not to drive or walk through flooded waters and be sure to test your drinking water to make sure it’s safe. Flood waters can bring up contaminants from septic systems. The American Red Cross of Montana opened a shelter Tuesday afternoon for Missoulians who need assistance with housing due to flooding in the county. The evacuation shelter is at the Christ the King Catholic Church, 1400 Gerald Ave. in Missoula.
