Join the Montana Department of Transportation for a free night of family-friendly fun Missoula, Mont. (Oct. 15, 2018) – We know construction can drive any community batty. Before Huson East crews wrap up 2018 work, the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to thank Frenchtown residents for their patience this season by inviting our neighbors to the Frenchtown Construction Carnival.
This free, family-friendly evening will be packed with carnival games, a construction-themed Halloween costume contest and a chance to interact with the same equipment used by Schellinger contractors to complete the Frenchtown Frontage Road reconstruction project.
Join in the fun from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 at Frenchtown High School for a night that’s no trick and all treat.
All are welcome to get a closer look at the actual materials and equipment used to build the new Frontage Road. All activities are designed to share updates about the Frenchtown Frontage Road project and provide educational opportunities for kids of all ages to learn about construction. Equipment such as an excavator and a dump truck will be on display for attendees to take a turn in the driver’s seat. Machinery will not be operational to ensure public safety. Young visitors are encouraged to don their most creative construction attire. Lucky winners will walk away with a prize for best construction costume just in time for Halloween. Why wear Halloween costumes only once a season? Most of all, the Frenchtown Construction Carnival is about celebrating community. Over the past ten months, the Montana Department of Transportation has worked to complete a much-needed reconstruction of the Frontage Road. During this time, the community has graciously accommodated detours and delays that allowed crews to get the job done. The Montana Department of Transportation recognizes that this project wouldn’t be possible without local support and we hope the community will join us to celebrate the progress made in 2018 of the Huson East/Frenchtown Frontage Road project.
