Missoula County Prepares For 2018 Mobile Home Sale

March 29, 2018 By

The Missoula County Clerk and Treasurer’s Office will conduct a mobile home sale at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, in Room 151 of the Courthouse Annex, located at 200 W. Broadway St. Registration, which is required to participate in the auction, runs from 8 to 9 that morning.

Among other responsibilities, the Clerk and Treasurer’s office bills and collects property taxes each year for more than 50,000 parcels of property within Missoula County, including nearly 5,000 mobile homes. The office is required by law to pursue collection of these taxes to the fullest extent possible and holds the annual mobile home sale to fulfill this duty. Efforts ensure that local schools, emergency responders and local governments receive the necessary funds to operate within their limited budgets.

Currently, 184 delinquent mobile homes will be offered for sale if taxes on them are not paid. Mobile-home owners have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, to pay delinquent taxes, penalties, interest and costs, which will remove them from the sale. The Clerk and Treasurer’s Office makes multiple attempts to contact mobile-home owners, including several notices of payment status, beginning in December.

For more information, call Tia O’Neal, delinquent tax clerk, at 406-258-3271 or email toneal@missoulacounty.us.
