A new year, and a new finalist takes the stage in the Missoula Symphony Orchestra’s most exciting season yet. Five candidates from around the world are seeking the position of music director, and each candidate has selected a unique program showcasing their talents and distinct styles. At the third masterworks concert of the season — February 1 and 2, 2020 — candidate Paul McShee will exhibit his ability to draw “subtle nuance from any score.”
McShee — Visiting Assistant Professor, Director of Binghamton University Symphony Orchestra — is a moving and expressive conductor known for the “remarkable blend of warmth, energy, and driving rhythmic vitality” he evokes from any orchestra he conducts.
Masterworks Series #3 concertgoers will be moved by Mozart’s emotionally stirring Requiem in D Minor. Symphony No. 5, known as the Reformation Symphony, will complete the program.
