Missoula dog lovers have a new place in Midtown to recreate with their furry friends.
The new neighborhood dog park at the southern end of Montana Rail Link (MRL) Park is now open. It is located at the intersection of South Avenue and South Johnson Street. Dogs and their humans can get to the park from the Bitterroot Trail or from South Johnson Street at Sussex Avenue.
The dog park is “neighborhood-sized” at .8 acres, about half the size of a soccer field. For comparison, Jacob’s Island Bark Park near the University of Montana is 6 acres and the new Sgt. Bozo Dog Park opening next spring at Fort Missoula Regional Park is approximately 4 acres.
