Missoula county has found its new elections chief far from Montana in Shelby, North Carolina. Dayna Causby is currently the Cleveland County Director of Elections. Causby is a nationally certified election registration administrator. She worked in private industry in human resources and logistics before taking a job in the elections office in 2012 when North Caroline was rolling out their absentee early voting law. Shelby is the county seat and the city of 20,000, just outside of Charlotte, NC, is the home of country singers Don Gibson and Patty Loveless, boxer Floyd Patterson, banjo player Earl Scruggs and the country’s one and only festival celebrating the culinary delight that is “Livermush”. Ms. Causby will move to Missoula in March to take over the duties of the appointed elections administrator.
