Stapleton Fined For announcing Candidacy Via State Email
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Secretary of State Corey Stapleton is accused of using state resources to announce his Republican nomination for governor in 2020. Therefore, he was fined $4,000. The fine is a maximum of $1,000 for each four violations.
Stapleton apologized in a statement from his chief of staff Christi Jacobsen.
Also, Stapleton did not incurred any costs by his office or by the Democratic Party.
