Wishing you had yourself a nice, cushy government job? Better make sure you get your shut-eye at home.
Believe it or not, up until last month, it wasn’t against the rules for a government employee to sleep on the job.
But it seems the good times are finally over. Though the Federal Management Regulations have not “specifically barred” sleeping, the General Services Administration has re-regulated it. As such, the new rules read: “All persons are prohibited from sleeping in federal buildings,” though a caveat allows, “except when such activity is expressing authorized by an agency official.”
Nice work if you can get it.
