Have you ever been sitting in a job interview and about two minutes in realized, “Well, I already blew this one”?
According to a new survey, we put more pressure on making a good first impression at a job interview than we do in other stressful situations . . . like meeting your new significant other’s parents, or going on a first date.
And even with all that pressure to get it right, most of us have majorly screwed up our first impression at a job interview. Here are the five most common ways . . .
1. We forgot the interviewer’s name. 40% of us say we’ve done it.
2. Showed up late, 37%.
3. Forgot to show up at all, 35%.
4. Forgot the company’s name, 34%.
5. Forgot what the company did, 33%.
Here’s one more stat for you: 58% of people say they’d rather stay at a job they don’t like than have to interview for a new one.
