Western Montana Mental Health Center and Recovery Center Missoula proudly present Facing Recovery, a free community event aimed at raising awareness, diminishing stigma and celebrating life in recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. Facing Recovery will feature great music, stories of recovery from individuals in our community, fun giveaways, local food vendors, an awesome raffle with great prizes totaling nearly $1000, and informational tables including more than 10 local non-profits specializing in prevention, addiction, mental health, treatment, and recovery. One in three people either have a substance use or mental health disorder or know someone who does. Facing Recovery is about our community, about how we change our thinking surrounding addiction and mental health, and, most of all, acknowledging and celebrating the lives saved by recovery.
Facing Recovery will be in Caras Park on Sunday, September 16, from 4:00-8:30pm. This is a family friendly event featuring musical performances by The Whizpops, David Simmons, and Joan Zen; several guest speakers including DJ Angel from ALT 101.5 and 96.3 The Blaze and Mayor John Engen; and much, much more. Whether you are in recovery or support someone who is; if you simply want more information; or you just want to enjoy one of the last big events in Caras Park – come on down to laugh, cry, dance, cheer and celebrate individuals who are Facing Recovery!
