Engage with SPARK! on First Friday to celebrate another year of equitable and engaging arts education in Missoula County Public Schools with SPARK! The second annual event will include interactive dance, theatre, storytelling, and music performances featuring MCPS students and local artists. Guests will also be able to dive into hands on arts activities and browse a gallery of SPARK! visual arts.
In addition to the student performances and hands-on art making, the event will include a silent auction, summer camp raffles and a drawing to win a summer camp from the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) or the MCPS Fine Arts Program*.
“Building on the success of last year’s event, we can’t wait to allow parents and community members to see the power of student engagement in learning through the arts,” commented Jackalynn Snow, SPARK! Executive Director. “It’s also just a really good time to remember the pure joy of making art!”
SPARK! provides over 700 hours of additional arts education in MCPS schools each year through over 100 arts integrated residencies in classrooms. The SPARK! Showcase is an opportunity for the community to catch a glimpse of the amazing arts learning happening in classrooms throughout the school year. Come create and contribute! See and experience dance, music, media arts, theatre, and visual arts and discover how kids learn about other content areas through the arts during this fun-filled evening for the entire family.
