With Halloween behind us, a new survey shows how Americans will charge into the holidays — literally and figuratively speaking.
An online survey says 61% of us who have credit card debt are willing to get into more, just to provide gifts for our loved ones over the holidays.
The survey of 2,571 U.S. adults conducted by CreditCard.com also notes that 30% of cardholders who don’t carry a credit card balance were also willing to go into debt for the holidays.
More than halfof the millennials polled, 52%, said they’re wiling to pile on their debt for the holidays, while just 49% of their older counterparts in GenX would do so, and even fewer baby boomers, at 34%.
Other findings in the survey included the fact that 65% of parents with kids under 18 said they’re willing to add to their credit card debt during the holiday season, with men willing to put more on their card than women, by 50% to 41%.
