The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics Montana athletes by taking an icy dip into freezing waters. It is primarily organized, promoted and conducted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Montana.
Beginning November, there will be 12 Polar Plunges across Montana. Plungers must raise the minimum amount to earn the privilege of taking the plunge. Plungers can raise additional funds and earn extra incentives along the way.
Events like the Polar Plunges help support over 3,000 Special Olympics Montana athletes. The Missoula Polar Plunge is Saturday, December 14th at noon. The event is located at Neptune Aviation, hanger 7.
Anyone 18+ brave enough to take a dip into the icy waters to support Special Olympics Montana. The minimum fundraising amount for an Adult Plunger is $125.
Any Plunger 17 & under wanting to take the dip into the icy waters. Reminder: All plungers 17 & under must have a guardian present to sign a waiver at the event! The minimum fundraising level for a Youth Plunger is $50.
Cool School Plungers
A cool school is a group of students, faculty and staff brave enough to take the dip into freezing cold waters to support Special Olympics Montana programs in their schools and communities. Gather your friends, teammates, teachers and principals and create a Polar Plunge team together for your local plunge. Together create memories and raise funds to support Special Olympics athletes in your school and community. This is for students, teachers, coaches, and administration plunging as part of a Cool Schools Team. Reminder: The team must raise a minimum $50 per plunger!
Too Chicken Too Plunge
Too Chicken to Plunge? No Problem! You can still be a part of the fun! Simply raise pledges and receive incentives just like a regular Plunger, except you don’t have to step foot into the icy water. Minimum Registration for a Chicken Plunger is $125.
Donations are tax-deductible.
