It's Too Late To Mail Your Ballot!
With only days until Election Day, 28% of registered voters in Montana have already cast mail-in ballots, representing less than half of the ballots that were sent to voters last month.
In Missoula, over 40% of ballots have been returned, above the state average, but lower than expected.
Due to staffing shortages at the postal service across Montana, election officials are warning voters that ballots be dropped off in person at this stage.
As the Gallatin County Clerk and Recorder advised, "for anybody anywhere in this state, do not put a ballot in the mail."
That time, he said, has passed.
